1. Summary
We use only what the Service needs to work and to remember your settings. We do not use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, so we do not show a consent banner. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
2. Cookies we set
- sb-…-auth-token (strictly necessary) — keeps you signed in. Set by our authentication provider Supabase when you sign in; removed when you sign out or when it expires.
- talk-to-the-book:language (preference) — remembers the interface language you chose. Kept for 1 year.
3. Browser storage
Some settings are saved in your browser's local storage instead of cookies. They stay on your device and are not sent to us automatically:
- talk-to-the-book:language — interface language.
- talk-to-the-book:tts-voice — the voice you chose for listening.
- talk-to-the-book:reading-theme — light, sepia, or dark reading theme.
- talk-to-the-book:reading-mode — your AI reading mode.
- progress:… (session storage) — your position in the book you are reading, cleared when you close the tab.
4. Third-party pages
Payments and subscription management happen on Stripe's pages, and "Continue with Google" opens Google's sign-in page. Those pages set their own cookies under the policies of Stripe and Google.
5. How to control them
You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings (usually under Privacy → Cookies and site data). If you block the sign-in cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in; if you delete preferences, the Service returns to its default settings.
