1. Purpose
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It keeps the Service safe, legal, and useful for everyone.
2. Content you may not upload or share
- Books or files you have no right to use — for example pirated copies. See our Copyright Policy.
- Child sexual abuse material — zero tolerance; we report it to the authorities.
- Content that is illegal, promotes terrorism, or incites violence against people or groups.
- Harassment, hate speech, or defamation of real people.
- Other people's personal data without their consent (doxxing).
- Malware or files designed to damage systems.
3. Prohibited use of the Service
- Getting around plan limits, sign-in, or security measures, or testing our systems for vulnerabilities without written permission.
- Scraping the Service or using automated tools to upload books or send requests in bulk, without written permission.
- Reselling access to the Service or sharing an account between several people.
- Reverse-engineering the Service or using it to build or train a competing AI product.
- Impersonating another person or organisation, or interfering with other users.
4. AI features
- Do not try to bypass the AI's safety rules (jailbreaks, prompt injection).
- Do not use AI output to deceive people, for example by passing off invented quotes as real, or to create disinformation about real people.
- Do not generate large volumes of content for resale or redistribution.
5. What we do about violations
Depending on how serious a violation is, we may remove the content, disable share links, warn you, suspend, or close the account. Where reasonable, we tell you what we did and why, and you can reply to contest the decision. Serious crimes are reported to the authorities.
6. Reporting
To report content or behaviour that breaks this policy, email info@talktothebook.org with a link or description of what you found. We review reports promptly and diligently.
